Touch

Touch
2025 · 36 × 36 × 1 inches · Acrylic on Canvas

Inspired by Chuimui (Mimosa Pudica), this work examines the ‘confused’ nervous system under depression. When external touch enters the void, the spirit glitches—caught between reflex and collapse. It bursts outward in defensive fear while simultaneously sinking under the weight of its own exhaustion.

The Chuimui becomes a metaphor for a soul that has forgotten how to be touched; even this plant, which has learnt so long to just shrink, has lost its sense and no longer knows whether to bloom or wither. What emerges is a chaotic, fragile eruption—an uneasy beauty formed from internal conflict rather than resolution.
